WEATHER AND SAFETY ISSUES AND INSTRUCTIONS:
ATTENTION ALL PARENTS, COACHES AND PLAYERS—PLEASE READ
IN REGARDS TO SERIOUS INCLEMENT WEATHER LIKE LIGHTNING AND THUNDER —THE SAFETY OF PLAYERS, COACHES AND SPECTATORS IS THE PRIMARY CONCERN IN ANY WEATHER EVENT THAT OCCURS DURING SOCCER EVENTS.
The Front of Yonge Minor Soccer Association would like all coaches, parents and players to respect the decision of the referees and conveners when a game is cancelled due to inclement weather or field conditions.
All scheduled games will be cancelled at the field and will be then played on the Thursday night of that same week, same time. Any sign of lightning or sound of thunder , games will be called immediately. No one person will make the decision as to the distance and how quickly the storm is approaching. Everyone is to get off of the fields immediately, no talking and go to your cars. The soccer fields are surrounded by metal objects, goal posts, fencing and bleachers. Avoid open areas, water, trees and high ground. Wait a minimum of 30 minutes from the last observed lightning strike or thunder before resuming activity. The safety MOTTO of the NATIONAL SAFETY INSTITUTE IS “IF YOU CAN SEE IT (LIGHTNING) “FLEE IT” IF YOU HEAR IT (THUNDER) “CLEAR IT”
*FYI—People who have been struck by lightning do not carry an electrical charge. CPR is safe for the responder.
Please watch how you park in the parking lots, some people are being boxed in. Please do not park on Peryl Street. Watch your speed coming down Peryl, there are children walking to their soccer games.
